TIMBER-CUTTING SERVICES IN CULLOMPTON AND BEYOND

The assumption many people make when they’re looking at a new garden building/workshop is that you’ll need planning permission – but that’s often not the case.

You likely will not need permission if you:

• Opt for a garden building under 2.5m (if it’s beside or behind your house and less than 2m from your boundary) 

• Site your garden building beside or behind your house and over 2m from your boundary (you can then opt for a building up to 4m high with a dual pitch roof or 3m high with a single pitch roof)

Essentially, you can’t build in front of your house and must adhere to the maximum height restrictions, which vary depending on how close you are to your boundary. If you need or want to do any of those things, then you’ll need to go through the planning permission process.
